Update- Small Spark Mon Amour

Small Spark Mon Amour is a 2007 bay mare by the thoroughbred stallion Blue Skying (Dixieland Band X Sky Reply) and out of our Irish mare Mavourneen (Amazing Bust xx X Highland Flight xx).

Mon Amour is a powerful athletic mare, and should be suitable for upper level jumpers and eventing. Her mother Mavourneen was ridden under the guidance of her owner/ breeder Sophie duPont.

Mon amour is currently being started under saddle and training will progress with the aim of starting her in the young jumper classes next year.

Mavourneen is the half-sibling to Amazing Odyssey, also bred by Ms. duPont. Under Olympic medalist Philip Dutton, Amazing Odyssey had a successful international career, including a tenth place finish at the Burghley 3-day event and 1st in the 2005 Jersey Fresh CCI***. The blood of Highland Flight xx is also found in the jumping super star Special Envoy (Rodrigo Pessoa), Carroll's Flight (Eddie Macken), and Hilton Flight (Richard Spooner).

4 of 4 Foals at Small Spark Farm

Boujie Spark Z was born in the early evening on the 13th of June. She is by Small Spark Bellerophon, and out of Kiane. Boujie is a beautiful, tall and compact filly and an improvement on her impressive dam. She shows a good uphill and ground covering canter with expressive, round protraction of the forelegs in both trot and canter.

Kiane (Cavalier X Swap xx X Nova Zembla) is a 1992 imported KWPN mare from the Denderose-Stam, Marelielijn 168, Fokfamilie 5, a very valuable mare family, which produced the sport and breeding phenom Heartbreaker. She has already produced a stallion son in Cantaloupe Spark Z (2007 v. Corland). Kiane has graced many top barns and came from Eric Lamaze's along with Jade, where she showed as Kia.
Grandsire Cavalier Keur competed as San Patrigano Mister with Franke Sloothaak, winning many top Grand Prix, Derby, and Puissance classes (video).

Third Foal of 2010

Bilodeau Spark Z was born on the first of June. He is by Bellerophon and out of Jade. Jade is a former CSIO mount of Olympic Gold medalist Eric Lamaze and Canadian team member Yann Candele as well as the North American Young Riders finals horse of Sydney Vince. Jade is a 1992 Belgian warmblood by Raphael and out of the mare Evoltige (Voltigeur X Ogano).

Bilodeau is a handsome large colt, bearing a striking resemblance to his half brother Donnie Darko Spark Z (v. Darco), although seems to be more short coupled than his brother or mother. We hope that Bilodeau will be as successful as his namesake, or at least as his impressive parents!

New Broodmare

Well, Judy and Rob just got back from New Jersey, picking up the newest addition to our elite group of broodmares. Nina (reg. Nante) is a 1995 imported KWPN mare by Olympic Concorde, out of the mare Valinda (Pericles xx X Ecrasiet (Amor)). Concorde is currently ranked as the 7th top showjumping sire in the world, and the mareline (392) has produced the KWPN stallion Riverman (v. Kenwood), amongst other notable competition and breeding horses. Nina competed up to the 1.45 m international speed classes with Venezuelan Olympic rider Pablo Barrios under the show name Nice to See You. She was also circuit champion at WEF with owner/rider Sarah Brady. We would like to thank Ms. Brady for allowing the opportunity for this mare to join the breeding program at Small Spark Farm.

With Pablo Barrios, winning the Superchips Inc's Lucky Sevens Welcome Stakes at the Atlanta Summer Classic I

Second Foal of 2010

Beatrix Kiddo Spark Z was foaled at 1 AM on Wednesday, May 26. She is the first foal by Small Spark Bellerophon (Beach Boy X Espri X Arkansas) to be born at Small Spark Farm. The dam is our Polish Anglo-Trakehner mare Gogo Spark (Briartic Ruler xx X Kerman X Kobryn). Kiddow is a tall, leggy filly of a light modern frame, that we expect will develop into a refined elegant mare like her dam. She represents the continuation of a superb mareline, with Grand dam Chelmza having competed up to the Grand Prix ring with owner/ rider Terry Russel and with Canadian Olympian Hugh Graham

Chloe

For Sale or lease. Chloe is a 2001, 16 1/2 hand bay mare. Excellent on the flat and over fences. She is currently schooling up to 3rd level dressage and up to 1m15 fences. She would make an excellent horse for a younger rider or lady looking for a schoolmistress with many years left of competition. She would be an ideal eventer, field hunter or jumper, has shown well in local schooling shows, and has schooled cross-country. She is bold to the fences but light to the aids.
Chloe is offered for sale at $15,000 or for in-barn competition lease.
